I am
Kay Wicker, a multi-hyphenate creative writer who is obsessed with all things culture.
Since graduating from Washington College in 2014 as a Sophie Kerr finalist and with a B.A. in English and minors in creative writing and art history, I have had the absolute pleasure of getting to do a little of everything in the media industry. I have experience in magazines, newspapers, and websites. I have helped Black natural hair gurus create video content. I have worked with musicians on press kits and branding materials. I have even dabbled in voiceover work.
Hailing from the DMV, I am currently based on the island of St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands with my Pit-Lab mix, Conch, spending my time writing a romance novel and working as a local reporter covering everyday island life, and when the occasional high profile tourist lands. I cover culture, entertainment, fashion, women’s issues, policy, health, you name it!
